Hair extensions are becoming the most popular way to alter the hair in a short period. This is due to their versatility, low-maintenance and long-lasting nature, but also because they can be costly. It is important to properly care for your hair extensions in fort lauderdale so that they last and look as healthy as possible.
The pre-shampoo shampooing is the first step in maintaining your hair extensions. This procedure involves washing your hair with a special shampoo designed for treating human hair extensions. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions and make sure that you thoroughly wet your hair. Once it is wet, use the soft-bristled brush to massage shampoo into your scalp. Make sure to thoroughly rinse and repeat until all the soap residue is removed from your scalp. Use the comb to rinsing the shampoo out of your hair. Use the towel to pat dry your hair and make sure that you remove any excess water.
After the Shampooing
After shampooing, it is time for conditioning. The pre-shampoo conditioning will ensure that your extensions are properly moisturized and protected. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions and apply a generous amount of conditioner to your hair. Use a wide-toothed comb to distribute the conditioner through your hair in a downward motion toward your ends. Avoid pushing the conditioner down through your scalp. Once your hair is fully saturated with the conditioner, use a comb to distribute it evenly throughout your hair shaft. Finally, have someone tightly secure your extension in a ponytail to hold in the conditioner and remove any excess water. Make sure that you keep other accessories such as clips out of the way while you are combing through your hair.
Rinse Conditioning
Conditioning is the process of revitalizing and softening your hair extensions by removing any product residue. It also removes any products that may have been applied to your hair during styling. This step is an important one to take care of your extensions as it allows you to make sure that the bonds are properly prepared for styling.
After shampooing, use a towel to dry your hair and remove any excess water from it. Place a ponytail holder at the front of your hairline. This would keep the wash away from your face and allow you to securely secure the extension in place without having to worry about what you are doing with your hair.
Apply a generous amount of conditioner to the hair. Use a wide tooth comb to evenly distribute the conditioner throughout your entire hair shaft. Leave this on for at least ten minutes. If you are styling your extensions, do so after ten minutes has elapsed, and then rinse the conditioner out of your hair.
